After you've joined an online dating service, filled out your personality profile and sent out emails to prospective online dates all you can do is wait. And wait. And wait. This does increase your odds of finding someone special, but you cannot take a lack of response personally. After all, you have never met this person nor have they met you, so don't get discouraged.

Now if you are getting actual rejection emails then you need to find out what the problem is. The first place to check is your profile. You have to be honest here. Keep it upbeat and interesting. Don't talk about past failed relationships, no one wants to hear about that. Be honest about who you are and what you are looking for.
